THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU for your support of the bake sale for endangered animals. The students did a fantastic job and I was impressed with their responsibility. I will share the amount raised, once it's all been counted :)
Reading, on a daily basis, is extremely important. It increases fluency, vocabulary, pace, and spelling ability. Just like anything else, you can't get better at reading, if you don't practice. Students are given a minimum amount of time to read everyday. This activity should be done in a quiet place without distractions. Reading at the 5th grade level should be mostly independent, but it can be fun to read together and share the value of a good book every once in awhile :).
This website will be used for a variety of purposes. One being a place to find the homework given on a daily basis. Secondly, for a weekly update on what we have been doing in each subject area for the week. I will no longer be sending home a weekly newsletter in the Friday Folders. I encourage you to access the website for classroom information. Thirdly, I will also post upcoming events. I am hoping that this website will help keep you informed and serve as a "green" avenue to communicate.
